Grandfather loved his

Family but it was hard

To tell, he was always

Serious and his aged

Face frowned constantly.

But sometimes when

My mother laughed at

My sister’s joke or when

He spoke to grandmother,

He would smile.

His smile was one of pure

Love and adoration towards

Those he cherished and it filled

Them with warmth and comfort.

It’s a shame he never smiled at me.
